A giant end-of-month spending spree inwards August has ballooned the Federal defiicit to $980 bln as well as 4.8% of GDP.

This is the largest nominal deficit since 2009 as well as the largest equally a pct of gross domestic product since 2012.

The MMT gods should move cheering this. They're not. Weird.
